UPS DIMENSIONAL SHIPPING GUIDELINES AND HOW THEY AFFECT OUR CUSTOMERS

Recently UPS changed its policy regarding shipping weights. For those not aware, ALL shipments are now based on the greater of either actual or dimensional weight. We wanted to inform customers of this important change since some Process Technology products have dimensional weights greater than actual weights. Please pass this information on to anyone in your company who places orders with Process Technology.

Actual weight is the weight of your shipment when put on a scale. Dimensional weight determines the weight of your package based on its dimensions. You will be charged the greater of dimensional or actual weight for the shipment of your package. For example, even if your package weighs only 3 lbs., if its dimensional weight averages 20 Lbs. then you will pay for the cost of shipping a 20 Lb. package.
