EASYPLUGTM HEATER SYSTEMS

EasyPlugTM heater systems are rugged, industrial quality electric immersion heaters and controls designed for extremely easy installation.  The systems consist of one electric immersion heater matched with one temperature control.  The heater comes with a simple mounting bracket for hooking the heater over the side of the tank (not included with “bottom” heater styles).  It also comes with an eight-foot (2.5m) electric cord and plug.  The heater electrical plug inserts into the temperature control, which you mount somewhere close to the tank and heater.  The temperature control comes with a six-foot (1.8m) cord and plug that you simply plug into an appropriate electrical outlet.  Put the temperature sensor into the water in the tank and set the control to the desired temperature.  That’s all there is to it!  It’s EASY with EasyPlugTM!

EasyPlugTM aquaculture heater systems are available in stainless steel for fresh water or titanium for salt water.  All of these systems are cULus listed and CE compliant for your peace of mind.  Please note: these heaters should be “immersed” not “submerged”.  NEVER turn on an immersion heater out of water.  The hot section of the heater should ALWAYS be covered with water when turned on.  The plastic electrical junction box of the heater should NEVER be put underwater.

The heaters also come with a built-in heat sensitive temperature protector for safety.  The protector comes pre-wired in the head of the heater in series with the power wires.  If the heater is operated out of water and the heater overheats, the protector trips and the heater will shut off automatically.  If this occurs, the protector must be replaced in order for the heater to operate again.  This device minimizes the potential for the heater to be a fire hazard if it is operated improperly.  Please note: any immersion heater run out of water is a burn hazard.  Never touch the heated portion of an immersion heater.

ELECTRIC HEATERS

Process Technology aquaculture immersion heaters come with an eight-foot (2.5m) electric cord (plug not included) in all sizes up to 3500 watts.  Sizes 5000 watts and higher come with electrical wire and conduit.

Our immersion heater line includes the EasyPlugTM line of heaters designed for easy plug-in installation (see EasyPlugTM section).

STA & TTA Series, 1- 1/4" Screw Plug Heaters:  1- 1/4" NPT style heater for through-the-wall mounting in the tank, or replacement heater for inline circulation heating.
2T Series, 2" NPT Stainless Steel Screw Plug Heaters:  2" NPT style heater for through-the-wall mounting in the tank, or replacement heater for inline circulation heating.  For fresh water heating only.
T2T Series, 2" NPT Titanium Screw Plug Heaters:  2" NPT style heater for through-the-wall mounting in the tank, or replacement heater for inline circulation heating.  For salt water heating only.
3FL Series, 3" 150 Lbs. Flanged Heaters:  3" flanged style heater for through-the-wall mounting in the tank, or replacement heater for inline circulation heating. 

 

HEAT EXCHANGERS

Process Technology heat exchangers and heating/cooling coils are designed for either fresh water (316 stainless steel) or salt water (titanium) applications.  A wide variety of standard and custom configurations are available.  Standard heat exchangers are for in-tank applications, however, we also have inline designs for circulation requirements.  Excellent engineering and design assistance is available upon request.

G Series, Grid Coils:   Available in stainless steel for fresh water or titanium for salt water, these heat exchangers are designed for either water or steam service.  Can be used for heating or cooling.  Designed to be mounted directly in the tank.
SP Series, Serpentine Coils:   Available in stainless steel for fresh water or titanium for salt water, these heat exchangers are designed for either water or steam service.  Can be used for heating or cooling.  Designed to be mounted directly in the tank.
UC Series, U Coils:   Available in stainless steel for fresh water or titanium for salt water, these heat exchangers are designed for either water or steam service.  Can be used for heating or cooling.  Designed to be mounted directly in the tank.
S Series, Solenoid Valves:   Used in conjunction with a temperature control and a heat exchanger, these on/off solenoid valves are used to regulate tank temperature.  Water or steam valves available.
ST Series, Strainers for Solenoid Valves:  No heat exchanger system is complete without an inline strainer to help keep solids from causing a malfunction in the heating system.  These 20 mesh strainers are cased brass and industrial quality.

 

TEMPERATURE CONTROLS AND ACCESSORIES

Process Technology offers three styles of temperature controls designed to control our immersion heater products.  The most popular of these is the DLC Series control.  This is a highly accurate solid state control with a bright LED display.  The second is the DRA Series control.  It is a low cost alternative with an LCD display.  The third option is a simple black knob, non-indicating control, the NRA Series.  All three provide extremely reliable and accurate temperature control for aquaculture heating systems.   Please note: all temperature controls include the temperature sensor in the standard control price. 

Our temperature control line includes the EasyPlugTM line of controllers designed for easy plug-in installation (see EasyPlugTM section).   All of these controls are cULus listed and CE compliant for your peace of mind.

DRA Series, Digital Thermostats:  Our most popular temperature control.  Features LCD readout.   Inexpensive, yet still highly accurate.  Temperature sensor included.
DRA Series, One or Three Phase Digital Combination Controls:  Large relays to switch larger heater requirements.  These "combo" temperature controls include our most popular temperature control. Features LCD readout.  Inexpensive, yet still highly accurate.  Temperature sensor included.
DLC Series, Digital Thermostats:   Bright LED display.  Available for heating or cooling.  These durable digital controls include temperature sensors standard.
DLC Series, Digital Combination Controls:  Large relays to switch larger heater requirements.   These "combo" temperature controls include a thermostat with bright LED display.  Available for heating or cooling.  These durable digital controls include temperature sensors standard.
NA Series, Non-indicating Single Phase Thermostat:  Simple design, rugged, yet inexpensive describe this non-indicating temperature control
NA Series, One or Three Phase Non-indicating Combination Controls:  Same as above, but with large relays to handle larger heater requirements.
DTA Series, Digital Time Switches:  Highly flexible programming for 24/7 operation.   These switches are used primarily to control automatic feed systems.
LCA Series, Liquid Level Controls:  Conductivity style probes to indicate or control the water level in tanks.  Can be set up with an alarm, or to automatically replenish the water level.  Stainless steel for fresh water or titanium for salt water.
WS & WT Series, Thermowells:  Mount this thermowell on the side wall of the tank and insert the temperature sensor.  Protects the sensor against damage and provides consistent temperature readings.
